Since founding Lifes Portraits in 2006 I have often felt as though my head is going to explode and unfortunately at times implode. The past few years have been a roller coaster ride with sheer determination as my only compass to guide me in my quest to be a successful photographer. I have always viewed life as if looking through the lens of a camera, seeing life unfold in still moments. Here in this blog you all will get a chance to know me better and get a glimpse at what goes on in my mind-or not. Wow, is that a scary thought....set back and enjoy the ride, I know that I am.

Just A Thought...
I had a sweet moment this weekend where time stood still and collided with a time some years ago....
At our home there is almost always music of some kind playing. On Saturday morning while cooking a late breakfast I was listening to one of my favorite "green artists", Jack Johnson.
Julia came in from playing outside and we started dancing to the music together. Her hand in mine, doing our altered version of the two step. Emma was close beside dancing with her "baby doll".
In that moment time just stopped. My mind briefly flashed to a time when I was about Julias age, down in Sturkie, Ar. in the old Community Building. I should mention that the Community Building consisted of a rock, one room structure that had a wood burning stove in the center and an out house out back.
Anyway, I remember dancing the two step with my dad around that old stove while some local musicians played on. I remember how amazing it felt to dance with my dad, who seemed larger than life then. I remember how time stood still, just as it did on saturday. And I can't help but wonder if someday Julia will remember dancing with me and time standing still.

Emma is another year older
Doesn't my girl look so beautiful. Here, she had just blown out the candles on her birthday cake and she was just beaming. She joined in on singing happy birthday to herself, she was so excited it was her birthday....what a fun age.
Celebrating Julia
Wow has she grown....Julia was sooooo excited and proud to get her new bike. She reminded me of Mary Poppins when she was riding her old bike because it was too small.
Julia wanted to celebrate her birthday at the river this year and what a great time! It was so relaxing to see the kids swim and play. I wonder if she was "wishing" for a bike?
